Smart Energy Consumption for Manufacturers

PPL electricity rate caps are set to expire at the end of this year potentially increasing costs by 40%. This increase will affect everyone, especially large energy consumers such as manufacturers.
On June 23rd, MANTEC, PennTAP and the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board presented Smart Energy Consumption in a Greening Business Environment. The focus of the event gave an encompassing overview of greening a business and saving on energy costs. Specific topics included energy assessments, energy aggregation and cutting costs of energy projects through state and federal programs. 
Featured as the keynote address was Katherine Jennrich, Senior Manager of Energy Services, from Walmart Headquarters. She spoke about “The Business Case for Green, Sustainability and Energy Conservation.” In the past five years Walmart made energy efficiency changes that amounted to over $100 million in savings.
