Celebrating 25 Years of Service 1988- 2013
Six Sigma, sometimes known as Lean Six Sigma, combines the two most important improvement trends of our time: improving process control and quality using Six Sigma, and improving work flow by implementing LEAN manufacturing principles.
Six Sigma is applicable across every discipline of the enterprise including production, sales, marketing, design, administration, and service to reduce waste.
What is Lean Six Sigma? The Six Sigma philosophy recognizes that there is a close relationship between the number of product defects, wasted operating costs, and the level of customer satisfaction. Six Sigma is a process that uses statistical tools and techniques to reduce defects to virtually zero as a means of achieving total customer satisfaction. Quality is taken to a higher level not in parts per hundred, but in parts per million or billion.
Six Sigma is a disciplined problem solving process that requires the collection and analysis of data in a structured method before solution exploration. The basic 5 steps are:
Yellow Belt - This course provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Six Sigma.
Green Belt - This course provides a comprehensive overview of Six Sigma concepts, history, roles, implementation, and Green Belt statistical tools.
Black Belt - The Six Sigma strategy involves a series of steps that are specially designed to lead the organization through the gauntlet of process improvement.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Yellow Belts are employees trained in the fundamentals of Six Sigma and who gather data and provide meaningful assistance in achieving the organization's overall objectives. This course provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Lean Six Sigma. Participants learn the value of Six Sigma, gain detailed understanding of their own processes, and learn how to control and monitor their work after completion of a Six Sigma project.
This is a three-day workshop that is scheduled over a three-week period.
Attendees will learn through a combination of classroom style instruction and supplemented with hands-on exercises. They will be introduced to a disciplined approach to help consistently meet customer requirements and continuously improve the organization through process-focused management. Actual company problems and improvement efforts will be used as applicable in the discussions.
Yellow Belt is typically not offered in a public setting. It is best for onsite groups. Contact MANTEC for more information. For a higher ROI, consider the green belt course.
Through Six Sigma Green Belt, organizations will be driven towards achieving high levels of customer satisfaction while reducing operational costs.
Six Sigma is considered a well-defined, problem-solving methodology which focuses on customer requirements through the use of fact based, data driven, statistical tools. A core part of Six Sigma is the DMAIC method - DEFINE/MEASURE/ANALYZE/IMPROVE/CONTROL - which is used to solve challenging business problems. The DMAIC method utilizes formal project chartering, data collection, and statistical analysis to select the right opportunity, implement the most appropriate improvements, and sustain the improvements over the long-term.
Six Sigma Green Belt consists of 10 class room days and 3 one on one sessions. It will provide a comprehensive overview of Six Sigma concepts, history, roles, implementation, and Green Belt statistical tools. Verify the number of days.
Overall benefits - attendees will learn about Six Sigma Green Belt and how to apply the powerful combination of tools to improve business processes, attain peer and employer recognition, complete a project at your company that utilizes tools taught throughout the course, and become a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
This course is for: senior level decision makers, general managers, supervisors, group leaders, quality managers, and any discipline that wants to apply the Six Sigma methodology to eliminate waste, reduce inventory, improve processes, increase thruput and improve their company's bottom-line financial results.
Six Sigma Black Belt
Benefits: After successfully completing the course participants will:
Course Description: Six Sigma Black Belt is an additional 7 training days followed by 3 one on one sessions for project completion. It concludes with a training certificate of completion. Black Belt Certification is attained after the completion of two successful projects. During this project phase Black Belts are available for on-site coaching. The Six Sigma strategy involves a series of steps that are specially designed to lead the organization through the gauntlet of process improvement. These major steps include the following:
