Six Sigma combines the two most important improvement trends of our time: improving process control and quality using Six Sigma, and improving work flow by implementing LEAN principles.
Six Sigma is applicable across every discipline of the enterprise including production, sales, marketing, design, administration, and service to reduce waste.
What is Six Sigma? The Six Sigma philosophy recognizes that there is a close relationship between the number of product defects, wasted operating costs, and the level of customer satisfaction. Six Sigma is a process that uses statistical tools and techniques to reduce defects to virtually zero as a means of achieving total customer satisfaction. Quality is taken to a higher level not in parts per hundred, but in parts per million or billion.
Six Sigma is a disciplined problem solving process that requires the collection and analysis of data in a structured method before solution exploration. The basic 5 steps are:
Yellow Belt - This course provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Six Sigma.
Green Belt - This course provides a comprehensive overview of Six Sigma concepts, history, roles, implementation, and Green Belt statistical tools.
Black Belt - The Six Sigma strategy involves a series of steps that are specially designed to lead the organization through the gauntlet of process improvement.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Yellow Belts are employees trained in the fundamentals of Six Sigma and who gather data and provide meaningful assistance in achieving the organization's overall objectives.
This course provides an introduction to process management and the basic tools of Six Sigma. Participants learn the value of Six Sigma, gain detailed understanding of their own processes, and learn how to control and monitor their work after completion of a Six Sigma project.
This is a three-day workshop that is scheduled over a three-week period.
Attendees will learn through a combination of classroom style instruction and supplemented with hands-on exercises. By the end of the course each attendee should be able to demonstrate the DMAIC - DEFINE/MEASURE/ANALYZE/IMPROVE/CONTROL - methodology in process improvement projects. They will also be able to document to show progress and results in process improvement; select and apply tools throughout process improvement initiatives; and collect and analyze data to make improvements in processes and products.
Six Sigma Green Belt
Through Six Sigma Green Belt, organizations will be driven towards achieving high levels of customer satisfaction while reducing operational costs.
Six Sigma is considered a well-defined, problem-solving methodology which focuses on customer requirements through the use of fact based, data driven, statistical tools. A core part of Six Sigma is the DMAIC method - DEFINE/MEASURE/ANALYZE/IMPROVE/CONTROL - which is used to solve challenging business problems. The DMAIC method utilizes formal project chartering, data collection, and statistical analysis to select the right opportunity, implement the most appropriate improvements, and sustain the improvements over the long-term.
Six Sigma Green Belt consists of 10 class room days and 3 one on one sessions. It will provide a comprehensive overview of Six Sigma concepts, history, roles, implementation, and Green Belt statistical tools. Verify the number of days.
