A new series of education videos, podcasts and blogs has been launched by the manufacturer’s leading source of guidance in south central Pennsylvania – MANTEC. A new initiative is being put forth by the non-profit organization to provide insights to the latest programs and practices that are available to manufacturers.

South Central Pennsylvania stands to lose up to 864 jobs among small and mid-sized manufacturers if a state budget proposal pending in Harrisburg becomes law, according to MANTEC, a private nonprofit economic development group based in York.

A ground-breaking survey to assess the global competitiveness of Pennsylvania manufacturers was conducted recently by the Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Centers (IRCs) in cooperation with the Manufacturing Performance Institute (MPI), a leading national research firm focused on manufacturing, our nationwide partners in the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), and our statewide participating manufacturers. The team reported 727 projects for 591 companies since 2004.

Global Data Consultants LLC, headquartered in Chambersburg, Franklin County, will receive funding to use for working capital and to upgrade its headquarters. Global Data Consultants LLC hopes to create and retain 132 jobs in the region with the funding.
