This 3 day Train and Do course is May 9-11

This course teaches the fundamental principles of set-up reduction and reducing waste. It is based on the works of Dr. Shigeo Shingo and his Single Minute Exchange of Die System of Setup Reduction. Participants will receive hands-on opportunities to practice new techniques and improve setup time.

This workshop teaches the technique in a "train and do" format where participants learn the process to analyze set ups and reduce set up times. They immediately apply them in a local manufacturing company.

Gain a understanding of how quick changeover/set-up reduction supports lean manufacturing; an understanding of key concepts related to quick changeover/set-up reduction; knowledge of the principles of SMED;learn to apply SMED using a disciplined, visual process of documentation and improvement; experience a team approach to quick changeover/set-up reduction; and learn how quick changeover/set-up reduction can be applied to support functions throughout the value chain.

Completing the LEAN Principles for the Job Shop is a pre-requisite for this course.
