A new series of education videos, podcasts and blogs has been launched by the manufacturer’s leading source of guidance in south central Pennsylvania – MANTEC. A new initiative is being put forth by the non-profit organization to provide insights to the latest programs and practices that are available to manufacturers. The organization is providing content through their website, social media and other outlets to keep the area manufacturing base up-to-date and connect with those who need assistance. “MANTEC is the area’s best kept secret and we are trying to make it a well known resource for manufacturers to tap into for help, guidance and new business strategies.” states MANTEC’s marketing coordinator Leigh Ann Wilson. “By using social media and internet based programs we are able to be a resource 24/7 for any manufacturer to access.”

The new videos and podcasts cover subjects of the benefits of MANTEC’s mission to Value Stream Mapping. MANTEC president John W. Lloyd explains “Manufacturers need a clear understanding of the resources that are available to them. By providing overview videos and content they get to experience the organization’s approach and connect with the staff.” One of the videos features Lloyd explaining the organization’s mission with an overview of benefits and strategies. This is followed by a more in-depth podcast and complementary blog on the MANTEC website.

The other set of media revolves around Value Stream Mapping, which is part of the LEAN approach to streamlining processes and eliminating waste. LEAN Development Manager, Mark Robertson provides insights and guidance as to how the process works and the benefits of pursuing this tactic. “Value Stream Mapping gives the manufacturer a powerful tool to remove wasteful processes and problems and create an efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process.” explains Robertson. “These efficiencies drop right to the bottom line for the manufacturer to realize more profitability and a better working environment.”
